How does the Jumborun run?

​

Trike and sidecar riders will gather on Saturday, May 22nd, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM in the center of Gallspach, at the parking lot directly opposite the town hall. At 12:00 PM, we will then ride together to Assista in Altenhof.

​As every year, there is an alternative meeting point with departure at 9:30 a.m. at Congenia, Albrechtstraße 26 in Marchtrenk. From there, we offer a scenic tour on lesser-known side roads to the meeting in Gallspach.

​

Because we all arrive in Altenhof together, and there aren't any electric sidecars or trikes yet, we create a tremendous motorcycle roar upon our arrival. And that's a good thing! It gives goosebumps to those we invite as passengers. Since almost all of our passengers are wheelchair users, getting into the sidecars and trikes takes some time and involves real effort. But we've managed it every time. It's important that we bring sun parasols so our passengers in the sidecar don't get too hot, as we usually have glorious sunshine during the Jumbo Run. Our passengers don't have helmets; if we bring some, that's great, but not essential.
 

​We then do a one-hour tour of the Hausruck region in a convoy escorted by the police – quite a spectacle! The ride includes a break in Eberschwang, and for most, this break is the absolute highlight of the event: a group of very friendly women from Eberschwang welcome us there with an incredibly delicious buffet of cakes and pastries, coffee, drinks, laughter, and good cheer. Finally, after returning to Assista, all participants, both riders and passengers, are treated to bratwurst and drinks. Unfortunately, the whole thing is over by 4:00 PM.

​The event takes place regardless of the weather. We usually have around 80 participating vehicles; last year we had 100. This is necessary because the interest from Assista residents is enormous, and we really want to include everyone.​
 

IMPORTANT: For Altenhof, the Jumborun is the absolute top event of the year.
